Zoo Trip

Today we took little Jackson on his first visit to the zoo. He really had a good time, and was exhausted by the time we left (see last photo). He seemed to like the elephants, monkeys and fish pretty well....but his favorite was the Tiny Tot play area! They have all these fake caves to crawl through and "natural areas" to explore - there was a little river, logs, a sand box and a big drum! We took these pictures in that area. I don't know if he really remembers the animals, but he sure had a good time running around and exploring :-) When we got to the car, he was asleep before we left the parking lot.
In the world of everyday life....I am getting back to work - school started last week at one school and this week at the other. That means syllabi to hand out, assignments to create and students to....well, whatever it is they do. AW is almost done at SeaWorld - just a few punchlist items and he's outta there. Soon it will be time to start rehearsals for the Xtreme sports show again, so he'll be busy managing those guys.
Jackson is doing great at his little school. He loves playing outside and saying the names of everything he can - he's got quite the vocabulary already. His latest interest is animal sounds. He knows that cows go "moo moo", ducks go "quack quack", cats go "meow", chickens have a very high pitched "bock bock", though my favorite is tigers/lions - he can't really say their names but if he sees one he roars :-)Okay, its more of a little growl, but he's trying

Musical Prodigies

A mom in our playgroup took these at her house a couple months back and just emailed them to me. Aren't they adorable? Budding musicians :-) Of course, it sounded pretty bad at the time. Too many cooks, you could say. (In the pic with all three, its Liam, Jackson and Kara)

Big Foot

Today we had to buy our big-foot child some new shoes. Already? You mean the kid has already outgrown his other adorable shoes? Yes, Jackson is determined to inherit Mom's high arch as well as Dad's giant feet. We thought the old shoes were getting a little tight - they were already 4 1/2 wides. So we tried to put on the size 5W tennis shoes Nana bought last time. Mommy could not cram them on his feet - the opening of the shoe was not wide enough for his big feet. (don't worry, Nana, we were able to return them) We decided to take his hard-to-fit feet up to the Stride Rite outlet where he measured in at 5 1/2 EXTRA WIDE! Jackson loved trying on the different shoes and walking around - he was cracking the store clerk up with his marching around and side stepping. We found a pair he (and Grandma & Grandpa & I) liked and he walked out of the store in them. He proceeded to dirty them up as he ran and played outside all day, but his Daddy says if he ain't dirty, he didn't play hard enough! here are some looks at the big boy in his newest shoes.
